Good news for all Cape Townians… You can now fly directly from Cape Town to New York thanks to United Airline’s latest route. The non-stop 12,600km flight will take around 14 hours, one of the longest routes out of South Africa, but also one of the most convenient for travellers in the Cape.
The route offers travellers the opportunity to take advantage of United’s loyalty programme, MileagePlus, and redeem miles against future trips, experiences, dining and more.
Although the new route will only start operating from December 15, 2019, tickets are now available with starting rates from R13,000 per person. Travel dates on this three-times-a-week service are between 16 January 2020 - 31 March 2020. The flights are on the new 787-9 Dreamliner fleet which arrives and departs from Newark Airport.
"Our new service between New York and Cape Town will enable our business and leisure customers to choose a more convenient and seamless way to travel between the US and SA," said Jake Cefolia, United's head of sales.
