VF Worldwide Holdings (VFS) has been appointed as the new visa outsourcer for travellers going to Italy in the jurisdiction covered by the Consulate General of Italy in Johannesburg. This includes Botswana, Gauteng, KZN, North West, Free State, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga.
The contract was awarded to VFS through its South African branch, VFS Visa Handling Services South Africa. VFS will be replacing Capago.
From May 2, all visa applications for Italy must be submitted through one of the following VFS offices, exclusively dedicated to Italian visas:
- Johannesburg: Alice Lane building 3, 11 Alice lane, Sandton,
- Pretoria: Capital Junction complex, 1226 Francis Baard Street, Hatfield,
- Durban: Umhlanga Ridge, New Town Centre,
- Gaborone (Botswana): Plot 937, Logan House, African Mall.
Due to the growing number of requests from South African travellers, additional visa application centres, exclusively for travellers going to Italy, will be available in Polokwane and Bloemfontein from May 31.
Bookings of appointments for the submission of applications has been made available from 16 April 2019 on the VFS website, or through the relevant VFS call centre.
