Over the weekend British Airways experienced a major IT system failure, resulting in many BA flights to and from Heathrow being delayed and even cancelled.
British Airways have confirmed their flights departing South Africa (both JNB and CPT) are back to normal (as of 29 May) and the issues affecting their systems in South Africa have been resolved.
We advise you to please take a printed copy of your BA international flight e-ticket with to the airport as a precaution. And arrive earlier than usual for check-in to avoid any possible delays with boarding.
There is still some knock-on effect being felt domestically and regionally to and from the UK (Heathrow and Gatwick) so please contact your travel manager to check the status of your flight.
If you are one of the affected travellers whose flight was cancelled over the weekend, speak to your travel manager for a full refund. Alternatively they can assist in rebooking your flight (up to 10 June) at no additional cost in the same cabin.
